This is a farewell message from Pharaoh to his longtime friend and confidant, Julio Caesar II. Julio was the greatest supporter of independent works and steadily guided our envoy toward self‑publishing. Pharaoh’s farewell echoes through the walls of Epharoh Publications, along the paths carved by our ventures in digital publishing via EPH Insider, and through the halls and departments of our parent company, EPHE GROUP.

Julio was an ally, an anchor, a companion, and a safe haven who walked with us before we knew what the world had in store. Even before the establishment of our formal grounds and foundations, before the distinguished names behind our operations, before the world molded us into what we are today, before our parents bid us farewell to pursue tertiary education, before we discovered our voice, before we realized the world stood ready for our commands, before we understood that the world bends to our becoming—he was there. Julio was our guide, teacher, and mentor at a time when our local community library offered a hushed environment that nurtured the existence we carry forward today. He remains a critical part of our foundations and operations.

Since our inception, our collaborations, investments, creative endeavors, executive and editorial decisions, publications, projects, and volunteer engagements have all drawn deeply from this partnership. We inscribe these words as a testament to Julio’s inspiration—not only to honor his relentless pursuit of independence, but also to immortalize his legacy in the best way we know how.

While we are saddened by the premature departure of a foundational pillar of EPHE GROUP, we affirm that our mission to educate, inspire, and liberate African writers endures. Our vision to act as guardians for African writers, artists, creatives, storytellers, and educators’ remains ingrained in our daily engagements. Our commitment to offering quality services and products to our clientele, collaborators, and audience continues to be our primary goal. It is with pride and confidence that we take up the torch. As Julio’s watch has ended, it is now our responsibility to carry the watch forward.
