Untouched
A flower untouched, bud the same
A flower untouched, scents the same
A flower unsullied, feels the same
A flower unaltered, reacts to no shame
A flower uncarved, ripostes the same
A flower unmarred, glands the same
*
A floret pristine, buds no shade
*
A flower untouched, feels the same
Its beauty silent, yet it proclaims
A flower untouched, spice the same
Its scent a whisper, nature’s own name
*
A flower untouched savours the same
A burst of life, wild ‘game, untamed
A flower untouched reacts the same
To sun and rain, it plays no games
*
A flower untouched responds the same
To gentle touch, it does not blame
Yet a flower loved knows not the same
For in caring hands, it finds its fame.
